Educators’ Day at Enrich: Celebrating the people who care for our children
There are so many little things our educators do each day that families may never fully see: a reassuring cuddle after a difficult morning goodbye, the patience to let a child try something for the first time, or the empathy and care shown when helping a child move through big feelings.
Working in early childhood education asks a great deal of our educators. They give their attention, energy and patience throughout the day, moving between teaching, comforting, observing, helping, and simply being present when a child needs them.
So, for Educators’ Day this year, we wanted to make sure our team felt some of that care returned to them.
Well-deserved treats and a surprise
We started the day with a grazing table filled with cheeses, fruit, chocolates, cake and plenty of other treats for the team to enjoy.
Later that evening, our educators were surprised with a candle-making workshop by Wick and Sip, complete with a sushi platter for dinner. The workshop gave everyone a chance to slow down, choose their scents, get creative and make something of their own to take home.
There was plenty of happy chatter and laughter, along with some very serious consideration about fragrance combinations and exactly how many flowers could fit on one candle.
After spending their days creating experiences for children, it was lovely to give our educators an experience just for them.
A big thank you to Kimberley from Wick and Sip for hosting this beautiful workshop.
Why celebrating educators matters to us
At our Southport childcare centre, relationships are central to a child’s early learning experience.
Children notice who welcomes them in the morning. They know which educator understands how they like to be comforted, who will listen to their story, and who will encourage them to have another go when something feels difficult.
Those relationships take time, consistency and genuine care.
Our educators support children as they become more independent, navigate friendships and big feelings, discover new interests and build confidence in what they can do.
Much of this happens in ordinary moments. Often, those ordinary moments are the ones children remember, and families value most.
Thank you Enrich educators
At Enrich Early Education in Southport on the Gold Coast, our educators are at the heart of the warm, nurturing environment we create for children and families. To our wonderful team, thank you for everything you bring to Enrich each day.
We hope you enjoyed the treats, the sushi, making your own essential oil infused candles and, most importantly, a little time to be celebrated yourselves.
Happy Educators’ Day from all of us at Enrich Early Education.
