Child safety & wellbeing

From the moment they arrive, children are nurtured in a calm, secure, and emotionally supportive environment.

At Enrich Early Education, your child’s safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. For us, safety is more than just policies and procedures. It’s a commitment we make to ensure each child feels safe, secure, emotionally supported and valued for who they are. We nurture a culture of care, presence, and responsibility, thoughtfully woven into every moment, every routine, and every experience.

Our philosophy: Safety as the foundation for learning

In the Montessori philosophy, children learn best when they feel safe, connected, and understood. Our learning environments are intentionally designed for accessibility, calm and safety so children can move confidently and independently as they select the activities they want to do. We also implement Emotional Intelligence (EQ) practices, which recognise that emotional safety is just as important as physical safety.

Our EQM approach, which blends Montessori and EQ, encourages children to share their feelings, build trusting relationships, grow in confidence and develop empathy.

At Enrich, safety means children feel protected, respected, and empowered, every day.

We are truly grateful to the entire team at Enrich for the wonderful care, support, and learning environment they provided for our son. During his time there, we saw tremendous growth in his confidence, social skills, and overall development. The educators are incredibly kind, patient, and dedicated. They create a nurturing atmosphere where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore and learn. Our son built strong bonds with both his teachers and friends, and even after moving to a new place, he still fondly remembers his time at Enrich. As parents, it gave us great peace of mind knowing our child was in such caring and capable hands. We truly appreciate all the effort and love the team puts into each child’s journey. We highly recommend Enrich to any parent looking for a supportive and enriching early learning environment.

Enrich Early Learning has been absolutely amazing for our family. Our daughter has been attending since she was 5 months old and is now almost 2, and the care she receives is incredible. The educators truly love and care for the children like their own. They provide nutritious, healthy meals and even supply nappies and wipes, which makes things so much easier for parents. What really stands out is how much Enrich cares about not just the children, but the whole family, with beautiful events that include parents and grandparents. We are so grateful to be part of such a loving and supportive centre and couldn’t recommend Enrich Early Learning more highly ❤️

We’ve had our three children at Enrich for a bit under two years now - our four year old daughter and our two year old twins - and honestly, watching them grow here has been one of the most reassuring parts of parenting. They’ve absolutely blossomed. They’re more confident, more expressive and have a stronger sense of emotional intelligence and regulation. It’s been really special seeing them come out of their shells and build independence in a way that still feels gentle and safe. The carers and educators are just lovely. Warm, welcoming, consistent and genuinely caring. From day one, we’ve felt that our children are known and valued as little people, not just “kids in a room”. We’ve never once questioned whether they’re in the right hands, because the level of care and attentiveness is so clear. We’ve been through three other daycares in Brisbane before moving down here, and we didn’t see the same truly “children-first” approach. Here, the focus is on the children’s happiness and emotional wellbeing, alongside building their socio-emotional skills and independence. It feels fun, connected and intentional, not box-ticking. With our daughter starting school next year, we couldn’t be more confident in the foundational skills she is gaining to take with her on her learning journey. We recommend this daycare to friends and family all the time, and we’ll absolutely keep doing so!

It was great to read our toddler’s portfolio at the end of the year. We truly appreciate the care and intention the team shows in focusing on strengths, documenting progress and sharing these moments with us parents. This kind of communication reassures us that our child is in a nurturing and responsive environment where her cognitive, social and emotional development are really supported. It means a lot to see specific examples of kindness, cooperation and growing independence being noticed and celebrated. Once again, a huge thank you to the team for the great work being done for our little ones.

My wife and I are so grateful to have found Enrich. As first time parents we did plenty of research on what an early education centre should be able to offer in this day and age. And frankly we felt like we were setting the bar a little bit high for ourselves and our daughter. Emotional support, balanced play based learning, nappies and meals, nurturing and caring educators who love their job, a focus on advancing fine motor skills, social and academic growth, and a play space with peers that welcome and excite our child to the centre. The list goes on. We quickly realised that Enrich offers everything we expected, plus so much more. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming and every time I see them, see my daughter, we feel a genuine sense of connection, friendship and desire to interact. Ellen and her team have built something truely inspiring. Within weeks of attending we saw our daughter Starting to grow and learn, bringing home knowledge, understanding, and patience. At first, like any child she was hesitant and cautious to leave our embrace, but the educators especially (nursery), as well as reception staff, chefs, all inclusive, have done a masterful job of ensuring that our daughter has a safe, fun and inviting space where she is now happy to walk her self in, blow a kiss and see us out the door so she can go about her day, like a real life little human. The centre also offers a (free to use) social app which gives updates on the children’s learning, daily meal schedules (and if and what portion of each meal they ate) sleep times, nappy changes, as well as photos of our little beloved throughout that day, engaging learning and playing with her peers. This is a detail I especially love, really helping myself and mum get through our days away from our darling knowing with certainty that she is well fed (and I mean WELL FED! we get jealous of some of the menu options) rested and having fun. Of late, our daughter has had medical issues, including (suspected) Febrile seizures. The latest of which happened in centre, as my wife was dropping my daughter off for daycare. Completely overwhelmed, as any parent would be, my wife was stricken with an overwhelming sadness and uncertainty on what to do in those crucial moments. The team however snapped straight into action, taking steps and precautions to ensure that the episode was as safe and calm as possible. Educators immediately contacted emergency services while others cleared the area of possible hazards, and when safe to do so, placed her into recovery position, all the while, and perhaps most importantly in the moment, kept my wife (as) calm as they could, offering reassurance, compassion and understanding given the circumstances. After speaking to my wife and staff, as I personally was not present, I was so happy and greatful to hear of the way in which everybody involved in such a confronting event handled themselves with poise and certainty. After the event there was a post on the centres app informing other parents that there was a medical episode, and that emergency services were called to the centre. This was done with anonymity in mind, while also addressing and understanding that these things can be distressing for parents and children alike to see. Although no other child was present in the area where my daughter had her episode, they were all outside playing, unaware, it was good to see that the centre addressed the situation and made all parents aware that something had happened. All in all we are so incredibly happy with Enrich, and we will recommend to absolutely anyone in the area who is looking for Early education.

It took a long time for my daughter to fully settle in, but I’m so glad we chose this daycare. I love the friendly staff, calming essential oil filled rooms, Montessori method of education, and also the app for communication between educators and parents. They spoil us with extravagant Christmas/Easter/Mother’s/Father’s day events. Food and nappies are all included. Lots of parking. Just so grateful for all the amazing educators who have been supportive during potty training and reassuring us after we drop-off our daughter.

Dear Megan and Ellen, Thank you for easing Eleanor's (and our) transition into the daycare universe. We appreciate your dedication and guidance. We looked at several other daycare centres before finding Enrich and couldn't be happier with our choice. We trust not only both of you but all of your amazing staff. Thank you!

I am thrilled to share my experience with Enrich Early Education, where my son has been attending for the past six months. It’s heart warming to see his excitement every day as he heads to day care. The staff members provide exceptional care and love, creating a nurturing environment that truly makes a difference. I am incredibly grateful to the management for their unwavering support throughout this journey of parenthood. Thank you for making this experience so positive for both me and my child!
The educators love interacting with the children

Excellent educators, more safety

Every child care centre follows educator-to-child ratios set by national regulations. At Enrich, we intentionally exceed these standards in our Nursery room to provide more responsive care and meaningful one-on-one moments.

  • More educators: Our nursery room operates at 1 educator for every 3-3.5 children, rather than 1 educator for every 4 children. This means each baby receives the gentle care and attention they deserve.
  • Consistent, dedicated long-standing team: Each room has dedicated educators, with some team members having been with us for over ten years.
  • Supervision philosophy: Educators are intentionally positioned throughout rooms and playgrounds to ensure clear visibility and active supervision at all times
  • Safe sleep practices: We follow Red Nose Sleep Safe guidelines and honour each child’s individual sleep routines.
  • Food safety: Nutritious, chef-prepared meals and snacks are prepared in line with strict food safety and allergy management procedures.

Teaching children to listen to and use their voices

At Enrich, safety also means helping children learn to speak up for themselves. Through our Emotional Intelligence approach, children are gently supported to recognise their feelings, set boundaries, and ask for help when something doesn’t feel right.

We teach our children the words to express “stop”, “I don’t like that”, or “I need help”, and we take their voices seriously. When children feel confident to advocate for themselves, they develop not only resilience and self-trust but also learn an essential safety skill that they’ll benefit from in primary school and beyond.

Child safety is embedded into daily practice, not just policy documents

Children’s safety and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do at Enrich. We follow Australia’s National Quality Framework and the National Quality Standards (NQS), including Quality Area 2: Children’s Health and Safety, to ensure children are protected, supported, and able to thrive.

We also believe that safety is more than policies — it’s how children feel every day. Families, educators, and children are encouraged to speak up about any concerns, feedback, or questions. Above all, our educators focus on helping every child feel seen, supported, and  valued as an individual.

Frequently asked questions about child care safety

How do you keep children safe at childcare every day?

Children’s safety is built into everything we do, from how our rooms are designed to how our educators communicate with the children. The centre is equipped with CCTV and a secure entry system.

Safety is also a feeling, here’s how we ensure your child feels safe

Safety is also a feeling. Therefore, our educators provide gentle daily routines to help children feel calm and confident. Our educators are always present, attentive, and responsive, supporting both physical safety and emotional wellbeing. Safety at Enrich is more than a policy— it’s a mindset that guides every moment of the day.

What educator-to-child ratios do you follow?

We follow all national educator-to-child ratios set by the National Quality Framework. In our Nursery room, we intentionally operate at a higher staffing level, with one educator for every 3-3.5 children, rather than 1 educator for 4 children. This gives the educators more one-on-one time to connect with the babies and allows them to honour each baby’s personal routines. Simply because we’ve noticed smaller groups in nursery help children feel secure, settled, and truly known.

What qualifications and checks do your educators have?

Our educators undergo a thorough screening before joining our team. They hold all required qualifications and a current Working With Children Check (Blue Card).
All team members are trained in First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis, and asthma management. They also enjoy ongoing training in child protection, safe practices, and emotional intelligence.
Beyond credentials, we carefully select educators for their warmth, professionalism, and genuine love for working with children.

How do you support children’s emotional wellbeing and psychological safety?

We believe children learn best when they feel emotionally safe and understood. Our educators use gentle, respectful guidance to help children name their feelings, build self-regulation skills, and develop empathy for others. Through our EQM approach — blending Emotional Intelligence and Montessori principles — children are supported in expressing themselves confidently and forming strong relationships. Emotional safety is just as important to us as physical safety.

How is the centre secured during the day?

Our centre is designed with safety and peace of mind in mind. Our centre can only be accessed by families who have our gate code. The building is equipped with CCTV throughout, and we have a digital sign-in and sign-out procedure. Our rooms and playground are intentionally designed to provide clear visibility, and our elevated, hilltop location provides an added layer of safety. And, of course, we continuously review our safety practices to ensure children are protected at all times

How do you partner with families about safety and wellbeing?

Keeping the children feeling and being safe is something we do together with our families. We provide daily updates about your child’s day, and we’re always available for a quick chat during drop-off and pick-up. We value open communication and believe that when we work together with our families, children thrive.
