Montessori-inspired pizza-making experience by Gemelli Restaurants
Hands-on Montessori learning
The Gemelli team brought a fragrant selection of fresh toppings—basil, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, sliced zucchini, and, of course, plenty of cheese! Our little chefs enjoyed rolling the dough, spreading the tomato base, and layering on their favourite toppings.
Making pizzas from scratch isn’t just a fun cooking activity. It teaches children essential life skills—from turn-taking and practicing patience to developing social skills while discussing which toppings to add and passing ingredients and tools to their friends.
A child-led and sensory-rich experience
Hands-on activities such as pizza-baking are child-led, sensory-rich, and structured, allowing children to make their own choices and express their creativity. It fits our Montessori-inspired approach and it helps children develop focus, responsibility, independence, confidence, and self-discipline —key skills that extend beyond the classroom.
A delicious way to celebrate creativity
A sweet surprise for the children
A true Italian dining experience includes gelato. The Gemelli team was kind enough to surprise the children with homemade gelato. What a beautiful way to celebrate a fun-filled afternoon.
A heartfelt thank you to the Gemilli brothers and our Pre-Prep student’s dad who organised this beautiful experience
Why Montessori is at the heart of everything we do at Enrich
In Montessori, children are seen as naturally curious and capable. By providing a carefully prepared environment, children can follow their interests, focus on the activity they’re doing and take ownership of their learning. This will set the children up for well-being and success in school, and life. That’s also why activities such as making pizzas from scatch, remind us of why Montessori principles are at the heart of everything we do.
