A program to prepare children for school
We provide a free Kindergarten program to all eligible children. This program prepares the children to transition smoothly to any Queensland primary school. Our qualified early childhood teacher specialising in the Montessori method provides this government-approved program. The program is 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year, and available to children who turn 4 years old by June 30th, the year before they go to Prep.
Learning school-readiness skills
Preparing for school is a big milestone for families. The Kindergarten program, which we call Pre-Prep, prepares children for the transition to school and sets them up for a lifelong love of learning.
During the fun and engaging Kindergarten program, the children learn school readiness skills such as being respectful of others during group time, navigating social situations, and eating the healthy food from their lunch box before the snacks.

EQM enriched program
Our Kindergarten program is enriched with the EQM approach. The EQM approach combines Emotion Intelligence teachings (EQ) with elements of the scientifically proven Montessori method. This empowers the children with practical life skills and knowledge to help them flourish at school.
In the EQ classes, the children learn to navigate their emotions, build stronger self-esteem and manage challenging social situations like starting a new school. Some skills they learn in our EQ program:
- Self-regulation
- How to express their feelings in healthy ways
- Resilience – how to bounce back from setbacks
- Being kind and having empathy for others
- Self-belief
- Courage to step outside their comfort zone and try new things
- How to be a good friend
The program is provided by qualified early learning teachers
The Kindergarten program is provided by a qualified Montessori teacher and is supported by qualified educators.
In addition, our EQ expert, Ellen, trains each educator in Emotion Coaching. This gives educators additional tools and strategies to help the children develop a strong mindset and the skills to navigate everyday social situations, such as managing their emotions in new situations like going to a new school or meeting new friends.
