Emotional intelligence: the foundation to thrive
Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the ability to identify, regulate and express our emotions in a healthy, helpful way. It also helps in recognising emotions in other people and responding with awareness and empathy.

Developing high EQ
Children develop emotional intelligence by observing the people around them and the environment they’re raised in. Our educators, therefore, model EQ every day. From using big feelings as teachable moments and coaching children in calm, respectful, emotionally attuned responses.
Practically, this might look like:
- Identifying their emotions in a dedicated EQ class.
- Calming their bodies during a yoga session.
- Expressing their feelings with words and respectful actions after a social challenge, such as being excluded on the playground.

As a Montessori-inspired centre, our routines are structured, yet child-led and adapted to meet the interests of each child. By providing clear boundaries, consistent routines and learning resources that spark imagination, the children learn to:

Partnering in your child’s education
Our educational program is designed to nurture each child’s emotional, cognitive, social and creative development. The educators create personalised programs to support every child in reaching their milestones.
We believe learning happens best when families are actively involved. That’s why we offer quarterly parent-teacher conferences, aimed at connecting with your child’s educator in a 1-on-1 setting, hear about your child’s progress, ask questions and share insights from home. We want every parent to feel informed, empowered and connected to their child’s early education.

A well-being hub for families
It takes a village to raise a child, and we’ll happily join your village. Our educators work closely with families, building strong relationships, welcoming open communication, and sharing insights from their observations.
As a well-being hub for parents. We understand that every family is unique and that the early years of a child’s life brings along big changes— emotionally, logistically, and in your family dynamics. Whether you’re navigating sleep regressions, adjusting to a new sibling, or simply need a friendly chat to start your day, our team is here to listen and support you.
Community and connection
Our centre is a place of belonging, not only for children and families, but for the wider community. We honour the land we live on and embed community learning experiences that enrich children’s understanding of self, others, and the world.
One of the ways in which we do that is through our Grand Friends program. In this program, the Kindergarten children visit a local elderly home to interact with the residents. This is a beautiful way for the children to learn from older people and enrich the lives of those around them. Their honest hearts and open minds remind us they have just as much to teach us as we have them.
